Guns in the United States

Gun-related crimes keep increasing in the US, although the government tried to tighten the gun control laws. The U.S. House on Tuesday approved a 10-year extension of a federal law requiring that all guns be detectable by metal screening machines. The law prohibits guns that don't contain enough metal to trigger screening machines commonly found in airports, courthouses and other secure areas accessible to the public. However; nowadays, with the support of 3D printers, the situation is even worse. The 3D printers can print out a real gun with 100% plastic that are easily go through screening machines. Can you imagine if the terrorist have those guns and bring them on a plan? There is an impossible for lawmakers to control those guns. Why don't we just band guns from now? Right now, the 3d printing technology is only available in the labs. if we band guns from now, the technology will not go to commercial manufacturers. Therefore, the plastic guns will be very limited. We should ban guns not only because of the new plastic gun, but also guns in general  are more dangerous than helping people self defense. There are some reasons that we should ban guns:
In 2012 the number of gun related violent crimes was 1/10,00. This is considered a high rate. If guns are banned, crimes will decrease.
We do not need guns for self defense in 21st century anymore. Now, we are protected we have emergency number, just simple dial 911. Therefore, there is no reason for guns should not be banned.
Instead of wasting time on finding a new solution for gun control laws, lawmakers should take a simple step by banning it.
