Guns in the United States

Gun-related crimes keep increasing in the US, although the government tried to tighten the gun control laws. The U.S. House on Tuesday approved a 10-year extension of a federal law requiring that all guns be detectable by metal screening machines. The law prohibits guns that don't contain enough metal to trigger screening machines commonly found in airports, courthouses and other secure areas accessible to the public. However; nowadays, with the support of 3D printers, the situation is even worse. The 3D printers can print out a real gun with 100% plastic that are easily go through screening machines. Can you imagine if the terrorist have those guns and bring them on a plan? There is an impossible for lawmakers to control those guns. Why don't we just band guns from now? Right now, the 3d printing technology is only available in the labs. if we band guns from now, the technology will not go to commercial manufacturers. Therefore, the plastic guns will be very limited. We should ban guns not only because of the new plastic gun, but also guns in general  are more dangerous than helping people self defense. There are some reasons that we should ban guns:
In 2012 the number of gun related violent crimes was 1/10,00. This is considered a high rate. If guns are banned, crimes will decrease.
We do not need guns for self defense in 21st century anymore. Now, we are protected we have emergency number, just simple dial 911. Therefore, there is no reason for guns should not be banned.
Instead of wasting time on finding a new solution for gun control laws, lawmakers should take a simple step by banning it.

Students' Future and Higher Tax...!!!

After reading through Cung Doan’s post, I strongly agree with him. On his post, he explains how some states are trying to improve their education systems. Being able to do so, they are raising the tax. More money would be available. The support for tax increase is called Amendment 66. America’s education system is free until 12th grade. However, it is not completely free. Student still have to pay for their meals, or extra classes such as band, music. In these extra classes, student are required to equip instrument themselves. In fact, they cannot borrow it for free, they have to pay some amount of money, we can call “rental fee”. Some students are really gifted, but they cannot afford these fee, they gave up. Amendment 66 will bring more opportunities to the students like them. It can help them fully develop their strength without worry about the tuition. With more money, the school’s standard quality can be improved. There will not be much different between schools. Students cannot make fun at each other like you are from a worst school, I am from a best school. As a result, students will find more interested in being at school.  The Amendment will bring thousands of students back to school, open up their future. I hope people after reading your post will take more serious about paying tax. They are not paying tax for nothing, they are paying tax for their children’s future.

Horsemeat

During World War II, as rationing made it more difficult for families to find beef, American butchers across the country sold horse meat, and consumers literally ate it up. At roughly half the cost of beef, horse was served as a protein supplement until well after the war in some places, though (MORAFF).
Today, horsemeat will be sold legally in America. According to Foxnews,  the slaughter of horses for human consumption could legally resume in the United States as early as this week following a decision by a New Mexico judge who dismissed a push by animal rights groups to stop the practice. This is a mistake of law makers. The slaughter of horses for meat is not only inhumane, but it is also harmful in many ways.
Horsmeat is not safe for human. Originally, horse are not raised for food. They are raised and treated as companion animals. Now, the government has no system to track medical histories for horses. Testing random sample of horsemeat does not seem to be a solution, because each horse is unique. Overall, horsemeat is not safe.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has documented that 92.3 percent of horses sent to slaughter are in good condition and are able to live out productive lives. Kill buyers go to auctions to find the fat, healthy animals that will bring the most money for their meat, and aren’t interested in old or sick horses. Why would we kill a healthy horse? Horses are like  cats, or dogs; somehow, they are our friends. Killing them for food is so inhumane. Some people will question "Why would we kill a health pig for food?" It is because of the historical. At the very begging of human history, we raised pig for food, cause they grow fast. An we raise horse as companion animals because they are strong, and loyal.
Horse Slaughter is the opposite of "mercy killing". There is no way a horse can be humanely slaughtered in an industrialized setting. We should have learned that lesson by now.

The Success of Obamacare

The article "Why ObamaCare is a fantastic success?" by Wayne Allyn Root posted on Fox News tells us about The effects of ObamaCare. The author begins the article by telling the misunderstanding of GOP about ObamaCare. He writes "The GOP needs to stop calling ObamaCare a “trainwreck.” That means it’s a mistake, or accident. That means it’s a gigantic flop, or failure. It’s NOT." "It’s not a “train wreck,” ObamaCare is a suicide attack. He wants to hurt us, to bring us to our knees, to capitulate- so we agree under duress to accept big government."
To support for his point of view, the author points out 6 success of ObamaCare:
1. ObamaCare was intended to bring about the Marxist dream.
Rich people, small business owners, and the middle class are being robbed, so that money can be redistributed to poor people.
2. ObamaCare was intended to wipe out the middle class and make them dependent on governmnet.
3. ObamaCare is intended to kill every decent paying job in the economy, creating only crummy part-time jobs.
4. ObamaCare is intended to bankrupt small business
the point of ObamaCare. Obama is bankrupting his political opposition and drying up donations to the GOP.
5. ObamaCare is intended to make the IRS all-powerful.
6. ObamaCare is intended to unionize 15 million healthcare workers.
In my opinion, I am not really sure how ObamaCare affects the economy. However I can tell Americans will get alot of advantages, and benefits from this. For example, free annual checkups and many free tests and vaccines are added, and the Part D doughnut hole will be closed by 2020. Lifetime and annual coverage limits are out, as are rejections of coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions. Several new methods of stemming the surge in health care costs include rating providers to show which are the safest and most effective.
Another immediate benefit provides that insurers must cover children up to their 26th birthday under their parents’ policies instead of ending coverage at the age of 19.
The biggest advantage of Obamacare is that it will bring most Americans under health insurance. About 19 percent are now uninsured. By 2016, only 8 percent are to remain uninsured.

Counter-terrorism policies live on the edge of international law!

According to an article "Has U.S. learned from past counter-terrorism mistakes in Africa?" posted on CNN news by Alex Vines, he writes Counter-terrorism policies live on the edge of international law. U.S. raids in Africa show that America's military is increasingly active on the continent. He made a question " In some cases U.S. military engagements in Africa have already caused further instability rather than reducing the risks for international peace and security?". He pointed out the answer by giving an example: after 2 decades since 1993, the U.S. and international community left Somalia to its own fate -- which has brought it back into the front-line of international counter-terrorism efforts.

"Counter-terrorism policies live on the edge of international law". I agree with author's point of view. The U.S. should learn how to stay away from the world's business. You can't just think if a terrorist group is planning to attack your citizens, anywhere in the world, any country has the right to defense. You need to have a further and deeper vision. For example, how it will affect the country that you will send the army to? Besides protecting your citizens, will u also be able to protect that country's citizens?

Finding workable strategies is hard. The question isn’t whether this administration or any administration gets it right the first time or even the second; the question is whether the folks in charge learn from experience and adjust.

How government shutdown would affect your daily life?

On Monday, September 23rd 2013, CNN published an article "10 ways a government shutdown would affect your daily life". According to the article, there were two previous shutdowns -- in late 1995 and early 1996 -- cost the country $1.4 billion. Below are some main ways a government shutdown might affect you.
     1. All the national parks will be closed. That's 368 National Park sites closed, millions of visitors turned away.
     2. The U.S Postal Service works through shutdowns as well.
     3. You have to wait to get loan from the government for your business or you have to wait to get a federal loan to buy a house.
     4. No trash collection.

After reading the article, we will know what will happen if the government shutdown. We also know which service will will not be available. From that, we can prepare for the coming up work, and be able to minimize the bad effect on our life, business
